Over 350 business owners and professionals are set to attend this year’s edition of the Business Excellence Awards organised by the Italian-South African Chamber of Trade and Industries in Johannesburg. A formal gala dinner will celebrate on the 21st November the success of Italian businesses across 2019 while presenting an opportunity not-to-be-missed to network and rub shoulders with the tycoons of world leading Italian brands operating in South Africa.
The Awards will be divided in two categories:
Business Person of the Year:
An Italian individual which is a South African resident or works in a local company and who has in his/her individual capacity contributed to an increase in GDP in both countries and contributed to the creation of new sustainable jobs in South Africa.
Business Enterprise of the Year:
An Italian-South African enterprise which is operating in South Africa and which has contributed to an increase in GDP in both countries and contributed to the creation of new sustainable jobs in South Africa.
Furthermore, two recognitions will be awarded:
Young Entrepreneur of the Year:
Criteria to be confirmed yet.
Chairperson’s Excellence Award:
Awarded to a person or enterprise (Italian or South African) that has achieved national prominence and visibility for its sustained contribution to the South African economy and its investment in sustainable social development.
Additionally, the award laureates will be chosen among those who have a role of high visibility and responsibility in their field of activity in South Africa, while maintaining a connection with Italy. Furthermore, they should strive to achieve the special objective of enhancing trade in their chosen field between South Africa and Italy or a special contribution to business in general which is of significance.
The deadline for applications is the 18th October.
An established forum for international businesses, the Business Excellence Awards have granted through the years a constant and credible source of recognition to outstanding examples of financial cooperation between Italy and South Africa. Since the mission of the Italian-South African Chamber of Trade and Industries includes social development and inclusivity, this year’s Business Excellence Awards will also support the charity Little Eden in Edenvale.
